How The Reedupholstery Process Works
Chances are you have a piece of furniture that just doesn't look its best anymore being faded, warped, or outdated. You may even have questions about a custom job or whether or not your antique is worth reupholstering. If so, please feel free to contact us. The following process is typical of how your experience with us might be:
  • You contact us with as many details as possible about what you'd like to have done.
  • Reed or Donna will give you a general labor and fabric yardage estimate over the phone. At this point, you can set up a free appointment to have Reed come view your piece and give you a better estimate if necessary. We will also leave you with a number of fabric swatch books to browse through, unless you choose something upon our visit, or you may visit our shop by appointment to browse swatches. You may also supply your own fabric; however, it is hard to beat our discounts!
  • When you have decided on a fabric and style, Reed will collect a deposit from you and order the fabric.
  • Your furniture will be picked up, along with any swatch books left with you.
  • Once the fabric arrives, and is inspected to meet your specifications -- sometimes hues are slightly different due to varying dye lots -- we will begin working on your piece. You have the option of having a fabric sample sent to you for your own inspection/final approval as well.
  • Aside from custom jobs, most pieces are finished within a few days after commencement, but we do not always begin work the day we pick up your furniture. Our usual turnaround for a single job can range between 1 week to 6 weeks depending on the complexity of the job, space in the shop, our workload, your schedule, and availability of supplies.
  • When we are finishing up, Reed or Donna will contact you to schedule a delivery date and time. We are almost always right on time, depending upon traffic and road conditions.
  • The final bill is due and expected upon delivery, unless other arrangements have been made.
  • For one full year after delivery, if there should be any breakdown or flaws in our workmanship (aside from usual wear and tear), we will repair it free of charge. We are that serious and confident about the work we perform!
  • That is how the Reedupholstery process works!
